FAQs for renting a road bike
When we started our company about 3.5 years ago, we never imagined that people would have so many different questions. Hence now a blog and later maybe even a webpage with FAQs for renting a road bike.
Reservation of a rental road bike
Booking or reserving our bikes is very easy. On our bookings page you can quickly and easily choose the dates and times and the type of bicycle with any accessories. After filling in the personal details and making the deposit, it is settled. Basically like most online sites for booking a car or a hotel. However, it seems more and more common that people are still left with questions.
Delivery to the holiday address or store
First of all, we would like to make it clear that we do not have a physical store. Nowhere! We work from our own address in Alfaz del Pi, where we have both office and workspace. The main reason for this is that most of our customers do not have a (rental) car available to pick up the bicycle. And that we also prefer to deliver the bicycles in our specially equipped car, so that this can be done without causing damage. This service is free for many locations. Sometimes we charge a small amount for the delivery and/or collection of the bicycles. We see this reimbursement primarily as a contribution to the costs incurred for fuel.
Make an insurance contract
Many of our customers want to take out insurance for the rental period of the road bike. We offer that possibility. At the moment (2022) it is € 30 per week. This insurance covers unintentional damage up to a maximum of € 500. All damage that exceeds that amount will be borne by the customer. Theft is never covered by this insurance. Even in the event that the customer has taken out insurance, a deposit of € 300 must be paid. This is reserved via a block on a Visa or Mastercard and released again after the rental period.
Accessories on the road bike
Of course we also offer various accessories for rent or for sale. Think of the various pedals such as Shimano SL, Look Keo or SPD-MTB. Renting a helmet is also an option. If you only travel with hand luggage, this will save you a lot of space. In that case, our customers often buy their water bottles from us (these remain the property of the customer). A Garmin Mount can also often be supplied, so that customers who bring their own navigation system can mount it. We currently have no options for other systems.
Standard equipment of the rental bike
Finally, it is not unimportant to know how the bicycle will be delivered. All our bicycles are standard equipped with a saddle bag containing a spare inner tube and 2 levers. There is also a mini pump on the bike. Of course, every bike has 2 bottle cages, so that you can drink enough.
